The Sons of the Betrayer under Horus, was a brotherhood of elite warriors, favoring aggressive, rapid assaults and psychological warfare. They struck like a spearhead at the heart of enemy forces, often demoralizing opposition before they could resist.

Following Horus' corruption by the Chaos Gods, the Luna Wolves were renamed the Sons of the Betrayer in honor of their Primarch. They became the spearhead of the traitor forces in the civil war known as the Horus Heresy, ultimately betraying the Emperor and the Imperium. Their armor turned a sea-green color, reflecting their new, darker path.
